1. In these conditions 'the committee' means the Nadder Hall Committee.
2. The hirer, not being a person under 18 years of age, must appoint a responsible person for the period of the hiring to be responsible for the supervision of the premises, the fabric and the contents, their care, safety from damage, however slight, or change of any sort and the behaviour of all persons using the premises whatever their capacity. The whole of the premises is a No Smoking zone. 2. When alcohol is being sold or consumed the responsible person must be on the licensed premises during the whole time that they are open for public entertainment. The person in charge must not be engaged on any duties which will prevent him/her from exercising general supervision. When hired for a meeting with an audience or for public entertainments, a sufficient number of marshals must be present. There must be a minimum of two persons, including the person in charge, neither of which shall be younger than 18 years of age, on duty in the premises when they are being used. The responsible persons on duty must inform themselves of the procedure to be adopted in case of evacuation of the premises and shall be familiar with the fire fighting equipment available. Plans of the hall containing this information are on the appropriate notice board. When the hall is hired for events for 18 year olds and under they must always be supervised by at least two adults over the age of 18 as required for their health and safety. No ball games are to be played in the hall.
3. The hall may be hired from Monday to Saturday 08.00 to 23.59 hrs, Sundays 08.00 to 22.30 hrs. The premises shall be used for public entertainment only between these hours unless special permission has been issued by the Salisbury District Council and the committee.
4. The hirer must not sub-hire or use the premises or allow the premises to be used for any unlawful purpose or in any unlawful way nor do anything or bring onto the premises anything which may endanger the same or any insurance policies in respect thereof nor allow the sale of alcoholic liquor without a Temporary Events Notice. Copies of the hirer's Insurance Certificate and the Temporary Events Notice must be given to the committee before the hall can be occupied.
5. The hirer must comply with all conditions and regulations made in respect of the premises by the fire authority, local authority, the local magistrates court or otherwise, particularly with any event which includes public dancing or music or any other similar public entertainment or stage plays.
6. The hirer must indemnify the committee for the cost of repair of any damage done to any part of the property including the curtilage thereof or the contents of the building which may occur during the period of the hiring.
7. The hirer is responsible for setting up the hall with tables and chairs and for leaving the property and surrounds in a clean and tidy condition, properly locked and secured, all interior doors being closed and taps in the kitchen and toilets turned off. Unless directed otherwise any contents temporarily removed from their usual positions must be replaced, otherwise the committee shall be at liberty to make an additional charge.
8. In the event of the hall or any part thereof being rendered unfit for the use for which it has been hired, the committee shall not be liable to the hirer for any loss or damage.
9. The hirer must remove all rubbish, jumble etc on leaving the premises. Disposal of rubbish left behind will be charged at the standard rate as set by the committee.
10. To comply with hygiene regulations it is not possible to keep available cloths and other materials for washing-up. Hirers are asked to bring everything that they need for washing-up if refreshments are to be served.
11. The hirer must comply with current health and safety legislation. Any accident or incident must be logged in the accidents book kept in the kitchen, and reported to the committee.
12. All means of exit in the premises must be kept free from obstruction and immediately available for instant free public exit.
13. The emergency lighting illuminating all exit signs and routes must be kept ON during the whole of the time the premises are occupied.
14. The fire brigade must be called to any outbreak of fire, however slight, and details thereof shall be given in writing to the secretary.
15. Performances involving danger to the public must not be given.
16. Highly flammable substances must not be brought into or used in any part of the premises.
17. Internal decorations of a combustible nature must not be erected without the consent of the committee.
18. Unauthorised heating appliances must not be used on the premises when open to the public without the consent of the committee.
19. If the hall is booked for a play or stage performance the hirer must give to the committee, sufficient time beforehand, a plan of the work they need to carry out before the performance to discuss how this may be accomplished.
20. Use or movement of either piano is only by prior arrangement with the committee. |
